Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) refers to the traditions, practices, expressions, knowledge, and skills that are passed down from generation to generation within a community. These cultural elements are often intangible and do not have a physical form, but they are nonetheless important parts of a community's cultural heritage.
ICH can include things like traditional songs, dances, rituals, festivals, crafts, and oral histories. It can also include knowledge and skills related to traditional practices such as medicine, agriculture, fishing, and hunting. In many cases, ICH is closely linked to a community's identity and is an important part of their cultural heritage.
UNESCO, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, has established a convention on the safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage, which aims to promote the protection, preservation, and promotion of ICH worldwide.
